Living in a big city is taxing, competitive and takes a toll on your central nervous system. No matter who you are, how you identify, or where you are in life, we all need time to reset and recharge. Making the decision and commitment to work with a therapist at The Practice in individual therapy is a vacation to focus on YOU.

All meaningful relationships experience ebbs and flows. No matter the love story, most couples experience hardship at varying times throughout the life of the relationship. Therapists at The Practice work with the couple to uncover cycles of interaction(s) that keep you feeling stuck, and the vulnerabilities that have kept these cycles of interaction(s) seemingly hidden. Presenting problems may look like difficulty communicating, cultural differences, relationship orientations (open/polyamorous/consensual non-monogamy), mismatched sex drives/intimacy issues, infidelity, divorce, conscious uncoupling, parenthood, and pre-marital therapy. Therapists at The Practice are sex-positive and incorporate sex and sexuality into all aspects of the clinical work.

Family systems are complex and intricate. In family therapy, the entire family unit is the client. Families can expect to be in sessions together, learning from one another and working together towards a solution that feels collaborative and healing. Family sessions will work towards uncovering the hurtful places, identifying each family member's role in the cycle of interaction(s) and helping the family explore new ways of “being” together. It is our belief at The Practice that there is no such thing as a “normal” family and we embrace and celebrate the uniqueness of every family we work with.

Group therapy is an excellent opportunity to experience community healing. Group therapy at The Practice is led by one to two clinicians with multiple clients, typically no more than ten, who are experiencing similar stressors or challenges. Group therapy is a collaborative and collective experience which helps in dismantling a sense of isolation with the presenting problem(s). It's a safe space where you will feel supported by your peers who are experiencing something very similar.
